90s at 9 The Prodigy's Best Lyric

"Firestarter" released in 1996 was the first single to feature Keith Flint as the vocalist for The Prodigy. Flint actually contributed 9 lines to the song and he says this song contains The Prodigy's best lyric.

The guitar riff was sampled from The Breeders "S.O.S."

The album The Fat of The Land  went #1 in 23 countries in it's first week of release. The song "Firestarter" stayed on top of the UK singles chart for three weeks. It also reached #1 in Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary and Norway. In the US it reached #24 on the Alternative Rock chart and #30 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The video was shot in black and white mainly because they ran out of money. They had made an expensive video that they scrapped so they had very little money left and they label was freaking out.
