WAUPACA, WI (WSAU) -- Officers in Waupaca County are warning against the dangers of drunk driving during the holidays after having their own squad cars hit by two different drunk drivers in a week's time.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page the most recent incident came on Saturday when a man was arrested for his fourth OWI in five years. The driver reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign along State Highway 22 at Symco Road, then hit the squad car. No one was hurt in that incident.

Details of the first incident were not made public, but officers say it happened sometime in the last week or so.

“Please enjoy the holiday season. Plan ahead, be safe, and if you drink do not drive,” officers said.
