WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- Aspirus Wausau has garnered two national rankings for their heart and cardiovascular programs.

The hospital was named to both Becker's Hospital Review and IBM Watson Healthcare lists as one of the best programs in the country for heart care. Steve Brewer the Vice President of Aspirus Heart and Vascular says what the rankings mean for those who will be receiving care from the hospital. "I think it really solidifies that they can have confidence that they're really stepping into one of the top premiere heart programs in the country."

Brewer says the rankings gives the hospital confidence that they're giving the best care possible to heart patients. "Hey, how do we compare to other systems in the country? And consistently we are ranked at the top. So it really gives us confidence that we're giving top-notch care to our community."

Brewer also says the success comes from the staff of the department for their dedication to providing nationally ranked care. "At the core of this is a team of dedicated medical professionals, our staff really an overarching focus on the entire system on delivering the best care and outcome patient experience. The dedication of our people here I think is tremendous."
