Blink-182 is back in the studio working on a new album, according to vocalist/guitarist Matt Skiba .

On his Instagram , Skiba posted a photo of himself alongside Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker in the recording studio. "Hard at play with [producer John Feldmann ] and all the young dudes," Skiba wrote in the caption. He also added the hashtag #NewAlbum.

Over the summer, Hoppus said that the punk trio were in the "writing stage" of the album, and added that it sounded "aggressive," "catchy," "dark" and "weird." He also likened the new material to Blink's 2001 album Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and their 2003 Untitled record.

Blink's most recent album is 2016's California , which was also produced by Feldmann. California was the band's first album to feature Skiba, who joined the group in 2015 following the departure of Tom DeLonge .

Blink-182 wrapped up their Las Vegas residency last month, following a wave of cancellations and postponements.  Those were caused by a myriad of health issues hampering Barker, including blood clots in both of his arms. The drummer has since recovered.
