STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) -- An Illinois man was arrested on the campus of UWSP Wednesday afternoon for a warrant.
Jerome Buchanan, age 22 was arrested on Wednesday, December 5th at 1:12 pm by the Stevens Point Police Department and US Marshals according to a release from Assistant Chief Mike Rottier. Buchanan was wanted on a warrant as the suspect of a homicide in Chicago, Illinois.
On Wednesday, Buchanan jumped out a window on the 400 block of Michigan Avenue and ran across UWSP's Q parking lot when officers came to carry out the warrant. Officers caught up to Buchanan on foot shortly after and took him into custody at the Portage County Jail.
