UNDATED (MetroSource-WSAU) -- Gas prices in Wicsonsin are continuing to plummet as the holidays approach, with drivers in some parts of the state seeing prices below $2.

The average price for regular unleaded in the state is $2.26-per gallon, 15-cents lower than the national average.

There are several gas stations in the southeastern corner of the state that have dropped to $1.99 a gallon.

Gas in Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties are just a tick higher than that at $2.33 and $2.37 respectively, but that's much lower than it was a month ago.

In Green Bay, gas is down to $2.15. It’s $2.15 in Wausau, and $2.11 in Sheboygan.

However up in Washburn County, gas is more expensive than the national average at $2.54 per gallon.

Crude oil prices have dropped to $51, and OPEC members have struggled to reach an agreement on output for 2019. Demand for gasoline also tends to drop during the winter months, which also pushes prices lower.
