MERRILL, WI (WSAU) -- Another appeal for a new trial is being put in for a Merrill man convicted of killing his wife in 2013.

Mark Bucki's attorney has filed paperwork with the Wisconsin Court of Appeals 3rd District to ask for a new trial due to errors in the original trial. The 67-page appeal submitted on November 30th, details attorney James Rebholz argument that the canine evidence was used erroneously and not as an error.

The appeal also states that Bucki received ineffective counsel during the trial.

Bucki was given a life sentence in July of 2014 for murdering his wife, Anita Bucki. He was convicted of three felony charges including 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide, Hiding a Corpse, and Strangulation and Suffocation. Bucki will be able to petition for his release to extended supervision in 2048.
