BROOKFIELD, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) A Brookfield mom will face charges after police say they found her kids home, alone, in a filthy house just before Christmas.
Lindsay Manriquez is charged with neglect after police found her kids, ages 6, 5 and 2 in her house alone. Officers initially thought the two-year-old was dead because of how soundly he slept. A criminal complaint said: “"His skin (was) pale and discolored. A baby bottle with a dark brown liquid inside (was) next to him.” The bottle was filled with iced tea.
Officers were called to the same house earlier this year when neighbors reported the kids were outside without any clothes on.
After Brookfield police arrested Manriquez, they got together and donated some clothes and toys so her kids could have a nice Christmas. The children are now in the custody of a family member.
