ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -- While unemployment drops to record lows in Wisconsin, one local company is looking to hire more workers.

Pick-n-Save and parent company Kroger is planning on adding 500 jobs in the Badger state this winter. Vice President of Communications for Roundy's Supermarkets James Hyland told WAOW-TV, "In an economy that has low unemployment, and certainly, anything that we can add to our 106 stores in terms of people, will certainly continue to help bring that unemployment rate down. We'll play a small role in that."

While the positions will begin in the holiday season, the company plans to make them permanent positions as Hyland explains. "And these are permanent positions Obviously it's leading into the holidays so the seasonality obviously we have a lot more business. A lot more need for people during the holidays. But these are all permanent positions, we want people to come and stay with us."

Hyland only asks one thing of those applying for a position, "We just ask people come with a great attitude. We'll teach you the rest."

Statewide all 106 supermarkets held open interviews on Saturday. Other local businesses are also looking to add to their workforce for the holidays this winter.
