MADISON, WI (WSAU) -- A Wausau man will serve ten years in federal prison on charges of conspiring to distribute meth.
Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson handed down the sentence to 32-year-old Nathaniel Drow on Thursday. Drow was arrested back in April on suspicion of distributing methamphetamine after officers caught him with over 200 grams of the drug as he was running away from them in a parking lot.
Police had observed Drow and an accomplice, Antron Allen, in a car and knew both had outstanding warrants against them. As the officers approached the vehicle both men ran, with Drow dropping a baggie of the drug as he exited the vehicle.
Officers searched the car and found additional baggies of meth, and during the investigation discovered the Drow had been selling the drug for more than two weeks. He pled guilty to the charge in September. In imposing the sentence, Judge Peterson noted that Drow was on probation at the time of his arrest for a felony drug conviction.
Allen will be tried for the charges against him in the incident next month.
