BARRON, WI (WSAU) -- Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald is calling on hunters to be on the lookout for anything that could help bring 13-year-old Jayme Closs home safely.

In a post on the Department's Facebook page Fitzgerald says while the case may not be in the news every day, it still remains a top priority. He's hoping that as hunters comb the fields looking to bag a trophy deer this weekend, they'll also keep an eye out for anything that could provide valuable evidence in the case.

"As hunting season opens on Sat we ask that hunters report anything suspicious such as clothing, weapons or anything you think it just not right on your property. Also, remind everyone to have a safe hunt and good luck to all the hunters," said Fitzgerald.

It's been more than a month since Jayme's parents were shot inside their Barron County home and she was taken. Investigators have fielded well over 2,000 tips from the public, none of which have led to a break in the case. Fitzgerald says they are still receiving about 25 tips a day, including potential sightings of Closs from out-of-state.

"While 30 days has passed, there is still hope in this department on this case and the community support and prayers that we have been given continues to fuel our drive and determination to bring Jayme home," said Fitzgerald through the post.

A reward for information leading to Closs' safe return remains in effect. Officials are continuing to comb through surveillance footage from an 80-mile radius around the Closs home to see if any more clues can be found.
