MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) -- A woman from Whitehall was arrested for abusing the 911 system in Marshfield this weekend.

WDLB Radio in Marshfield reports the unidentified woman called 911 from a room at the Woodfield Inn and Suites on North Central Avenue Friday evening claiming that a man from Spencer was going to shoot her in the face.

When officers arrived at the room they found it empty but in disarray. She then went to the Marathon county side of the border and called 911 again to say she was OK. Officers instructed her to go back to the room where she was arrested for providing officers with false information.

Additional charges of obstructing an officer and bail jumping are also being recommended.

The 27-year-old woman remains jailed in Wood County and was unable to post bond.
