VILLAGE OF PORT EDWARDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -- A former police chief of Port Edwards has been accused of leaving guns unattended at the Monarch Fun Fest in August.

This comes from a complaint provided by the Village of Port Edwards to WAOW-TV. The complaint states former Police Chief Jennifer Iverson set up a table at the Monarch Fun Fest which included several guns along with an external bulletproof vest and clips of ammunition. The guns were zip tied to prevent the guns being loaded and fired.

Iverson and one other officer were staffing the table at the beginning of the festival. At a point the officer was dispatched to a call, leaving the table alone until Iverson returned. Afterward, Iverson reprimanded the officer for taking the call and leaving a squad car unlocked.

The complaint said Iverson engaged in unsafe firearms practices and glorified violence. She has since left the department in mid-November after reaching a separation agreement and resigning.

The village is working on hiring a replacement chief of police.
