Wausau man charged with recieving child poronography

MADISON, WI (WSAU) -- A Wausau man has been charged with three counts of receiving child pornography.

A grand jury indicted 20-year-old Peter Jewell-Reigel this week following the completion of an investigation that involved both the Kronenwetter Police Department and the FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force.

Details of the investigation were not revealed, but according to a release from the Department of Justice's Western Wisconsin division Jewell-Reigel is accused of receiving the images via text message last August. He faces at least five years in prison, and a maximum of 20 years in prison, for each count if he's found guilty.

Other agencies involved in the investigation included the Sheboygan, Waukesha, and Milwaukee County Sheriffs’ Offices.
