MADISON, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) Democratic candidate for governor Tony Evers is proposing a middle class income tax cut of 10-percent.

Evers put forth the idea after Governor Walker contended that Evers would raise a long list of taxes. Evers had said earlier in the campaign that he was considering which taxes to raise.

The plan would provide the cut for individuals who make up to $100,000 and families who make up to $150,000. To cover much of the tax cuts, Evers would scale back the manufacturing and agriculture tax credit by nearly $300,000. In announcing the plan, Evers said “For eight years Scott Walker has rewarded the wealthy and the special interests.”

A Walker campaign spokesman said, “Hard-working families won’t be fooled by last-minute media stunts.” Many of Walker’s campaign ads suggest that Evers would raise the state gas tax by up to $1-per-gallon.
