MOSINEE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -- A Nazi flag has been seen flying outside of a home in Mosinee in recent weeks. The home is located less than a mile from the downtown area.

Charlie Valiska is a resident of Mosinee and a World War II veteran. He tells WAOW Newsline 9 that he was very surprised when he saw the flag.

"To dishonor the American flag by putting up a Nazi flag is just absolutely insane," he said. "I don't know what the hell is the matter with this people. (I'm) floored that anybody would, living in the United States, put up a Nazi flag."

Police have received just one complaint about the flag flying back on August 4th. Chief Ken Muelling with the Mosinee Police Department tells Newsline 9 no laws are being broken though.

"There's nothing in our ordinance or the state statutes that would be a violation," said Muelling.

Newsline 9 did speak with a woman at the house where the flag is being flown. She said "they're proud of who they are" and "if (homosexuals) can fly their flag, so can they".

The flag has not been flown since the violence that occurred in Charlottesville Virginia over the weekend.
