WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- A former National Guard Sergeant has reached a plea deal to accusations that he committed sex crimes against a 15-year-old Wausau boy.

Anthony McWhorter, 28, entered a guilty plea on Tuesday to one count of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of Child according to online court records.

In exchange, charges of Child Enticement and Using a Computer to Facilitate a Sex Crime were dropped.

The charges stem from an incident at the Plaza Hotel in Wausau in which McWhorter gave the boy an X Box console and $500 in exchange for oral sex.

McWhorter met the boy through snapchat and initially told officers he was 19 years old.

A sentencing hearing for McWhorter was not immediately set.
