WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- The man accused of killing his fiance and another man in an Abbotsford home has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
Tyler Zimmerman will plead guilty to two counts of First-Degree Intentional Homicide by use of a dangerous weapon in exchange for having four other felony counts dismissed but read in including three charges of First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety by use of a dangerous weapon.
The charges stem from a January shooting in which Zimmerman killed his fiance, 21-year-old Cierra Hardrath and another man,25-year-old Duane Hostetler Junior.
Zimmerman told police he had thought Hardrath was cheating on him and tracked her using his phone to the house in Abbotsford. He said he didn't know the other man but shot him as well because he panicked after killing her.
A third woman, 18-year-old Megan Dupree was also shot but survived. Dupree was engaged to Hostetler.
Zimmerman surrendered to police at the site of the shooting. He will be sentenced for the incident on March 15th in Marathon County court.
