MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) -- A last-minute non-decision by current Mosinee School Board member Kevin Thiel has led to an extension of the deadline to declare candidacy for his seat.
According to the district Thiel didn't file paperwork to run for re-election, and also didn't file a declaration of non-candidacy by Wednesday's deadline. Because of that, anyone who wishes to run for the seat has been given a one-week extension of the filding deadline.
Candidate nomination papers must be picked up by 5 PM on Saturday, January 5th and must be turned in by 5 PM on January 7th.
Thiel's seat covers area #5 which includes portions of the Village of Kronenwetter and Towns of Guenther and Reid.
