BARRON, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) -- The Barron County Sheriff's Department says it will be giving an update on the case of missing teen Jayme Closs next Tuesday.
Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald made the announcment on his department's Facebook page, but didn't say what would be revealed. The update comes three months to the day that Closs was reported missing after her parents James and Denise Closs were found murdered in their Barron home. She is not considered a suspect in the killings, and is presumed to be an abduction victim.
A 911 call was made from the home during the attack, but nothing was said. The dispatcher heard a struggle during the call, which was made from Denise’s cellphone.
There had been a possible sighting in Florida in the days after Jayme’s disappearance, but that has since been downplayed as a likely incorrect report. Two cars or interest are being sought in the case: A red or orange Dodge Challenger, and a black vehicle, either a Ford Edge or an Acura MDX.
Fitzgerald says other agencies working on the case will also be present.
