WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- More updates have come out on the proposed HOM Furniture location in downtown Wausau.
At Tuesday night's Economic Development Committee meeting an update was given on the HOM Furniture project at the Wausau Center Mall.
The sale on the former Younkers store has been closed on by HOM Furniture. Renovations will soon begin on the building, which will include new signage outside the location.
HOM Furniture has also been made aware of the different studies being conducted by the city on the mall for both the building itself and the roads nearby from Toole Design. The owners expect a March to early spring opening date in 2019.
A formal announcement from the company is expected sometime on Wednesday.
