WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- A Wausau man will serve prison time after his employer found him passed out drunk in his vehicle just before his work shift was to begin.

Online court records indicate Keith Gardner, age 53, was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison and three years of extended supervision along with over $3,000 in fines.

Back in September Gardner was found passed out in the front seat of his Jeep by his supervisors at Red Robin in Rib Mountain. Management called the police, and when they arrived they found Garder sitting up and smoking a small cigar. Garder refused a field sobriety test and reportedly told the officers to just take him to jail.

In addition to the prison, supervision, and fines Garder was also sentenced to community service and will have his driver's license suspended for two and a half years.

Gardner's previous OWI convictions date back to 1994.
