WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- A Withee woman will serve seven months in jail after she would found guilty of embezzling thousands from two Wausau-area employers.

Kim M Poirier will also serve five years probation as part of the sentence handed down last week by a Marathon County judge. Poirier had been employed at ADC Custom Products in Weston and D & T Drywall Paint and Insulation in Schofield over the last three years and was found guilty of stealing funds for personal use from both businesses.

While employed at ADC she was found to have written thousands of dollars worth of checks to herself from company accounts. When confronted by Police she said she used the money to pay for personal bills which were piling up after her husband had medical complications and couldn't work.

After leaving ADC she took a job at D & T Drywall Paint and Insulation, where she was accused of using a company credit card to make repairs to her daughter's car without permission. She was also accused of cashing a paycheck which she knew had errors on it, then keeping the money and cashing the corrected paycheck as well.

The sentence stems from charges of fraudulent use of a credit card and theft in a business setting.
