Two Sheriff Cars Damaged in High Speed Chase

TOWNSHIP OF CASSIAN, WI (WSAU) -- Two Lincoln County Sheriff patrol cars were damaged during a high-speed chase on Thursday night.

At 10 PM on October 11th, two Lincoln County Sheriff Office vehicles were involved in a pursuit of another vehicle. The started when a patrol deputy ran a license plate check on a vehicle where the owner had multiple felony warrants. The vehicle fled at speeds of 100 mph from two deputies for over 14 miles.

The chase went into Oneida County where the suspect stopped on Lakewood Road in the Township of Cassian. After stopping the suspect put their car in reverse and hit the front of one of the patrol cars which rolled into the second patrol car.

The suspect tried to flee after a second stop on Lakewood, but the vehicle was rammed by the second patrol unit to disable the car. The suspect then tried to flee on foot but was apprehended by two officers.

One deputy had minor injuries while the other was fine. The suspect was treated for minor injuries from the incident before going into custody.
