MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) -- The possible redevelopment of the West Second Street corridor in downtown Marshfield has hit a snag.  That's according to Marshfield's Director of Development Services Josh Miller, who says a consultant's study has been put on hold because one of the main property owners isn't interested in being part of the project.

"One of the major pieces of property is not interested in developing at this time, and we're still working through some of those things on the back end," Miller explained.  "We haven't progressed forward.  We have not entered into any contract, and we have not spent any of the allocated funds."

Marshfield's Common Council had approved $50,000 for the study to help guide a major redevelopment of the area; but now it appears that the project's future is unclear.  Miller said, "So whether we change the scope, or whether we continue forward, we would come back to the council before pursing that."
