MILWAUKEE, WI (MetroSouce-WSAU)   The Fire and Police Commission is upholding the firing of a Milwaukee police officer who posted racist memes after the tasing and arrest of Bucks rookie Sterling Brown.

The disciplinary panel decided unanimously Wednesday that former Officer Erik Andrade violated department policy and discredited the department to the public. The commissioners also decided the firing was justified. Arkdale posted: “Nice meeting Sterling Brown of the Milwaukee Bucks at work this morning! Lol”

Brown was tased by police officers after parking across several handicapped spaces at a 24-hour pharmacy.

Brown contends that officers acted aggressively towards him and that the tasing was unjustified. He’s filed a federal civil rights lawsuit. The case was not prosecuted, although Brown was issued a parking citation.
