STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) -- The Stevens Point Police Department has released the names of those involved in a vehicle versus pedestrian accident last Monday.
Harrison K Helfand, 57, was running eastbound along Madison Street when he was struck in the crosswalk by 50-year-old Michael L Smith, who was driving northbound on Business 51.

Helfand remains hospitalized with injuries sustained in the accident. As it stands, no charges or citations have been issued to either man as a result of the accident. That could change depending on the results of the investigation.
Both men are residents of Stevens Point.
