PLOVER, WI (WSAU) - One of the few authentic bagel shops in Central Wisconsin is closing its doors for good on Sunday. Big Apple Bagels in Plover is going out of business.

The eatery posted going-out-of-business signs a few days ago. They are selling off their final batches of bagels, and some of the store's equipment and decorations. There is also a 'for sale or lease' sign on their building.

The store, which opened in 2002, has posted a social media notice last summer that they were looking to sell the Plover franchise. Having been unable to find a buyer, they will close permanently at 1pm Sunday.

Big Apple Bagels was founded in 1993. A Wausau location closed more than a decade ago. The nearest locations that remain are in Green Bay, Appleton and Oshkosh.
