WAUKESHA, WI (METRO) - Is it racial profiling for a deputy to ask about drugs and guns?

A pair of pastors say it is, and they're suing the Waukesha County sheriff's office because they say it happened to them.

Pastors Demetrius Williams and John Patterson say a Waukesha County deputy ran a check on them when they broke down along I-94 last May.

They say the deputy also asked if they had drugs or guns in their car; the men say they simply had a flat tire.

The two are suing for racial profiling.

Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson last summer said the pastors' claims are baseless; he said Waukesha County doesn't tolerate racial profiling in the sheriff's office.
